Lexical Translation Strategies Of Science And Technology English From The Perspective Of Linguistic Schema Theory

Linguistic schema has important guiding value for translation work.By accurately grasping the basic linguistic knowledge such as vocabulary composition and grammatical structure in the source language and the target language,the translator can better convert the source language into the target language,thereby improving the quality and speed of translation.As an important theoretical knowledge,linguistic schema theory plays an extremely important guiding role in the lexical translation of science and technology English.Only mastering the language schema in the source language and the target language can increase the translator's ability to understand and use the language,thus improving the accuracy of the translation.From the perspective of linguistic schemata theory,this paper takes the case of the Chinese Version of Chapter 10 of Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures to analyze the characteristics of lexical words in English for science and technology,and studies its corresponding translation strategies.The author has summarized that the technical terms with composite structure can be translated by the extension of the meaning or the addition of the meaning;the abbreviation composed by abbreviation method can be translated by the decomposition method or the method of coping and adding comment;the non-predicate verb can be translated by adding words or conversion.It aims to enrich the application and research of linguistic schema theory in the translation of English for science and technology.
