| Red film, represent the national mainstream ideology, reflect the process and the spirit of the people of all nationalities’striving for Chinese revolution and socialist construction. The movie has the distinct ideology color, strong appeal, grand power and extensive mass characters, which embodies the spirit of the people with the red purification mind, promotes the mind of the people, inspires people for ideal striving spirits. This paper will research on the red film and the educational function of it in details by using the basic theory of film studies, such as movie narrative, sociology, political economics related theories etc.The thesis includes four chapters. The preface mainly introduces the reason of choosing this subject, research status and the method. The concept of the red movie and subsection, educational function and the necessary instructions are discussed in the first chapter. The second chapter mainly introduces the development of red film, which briefly combed it at all stages of the development. In1931-1949years, red film is budding.It is the preliminary period of development. Movies of the Anti-Japanese War period and civil war period have the features of red. In1949-1966years, red film developed to the peak, producing different types of films. In1966-1976, with the influence of political environments,"model Peking Opera" became the only film product. It is a few years before a small amount of feature films were produced; however, the quality is not high. In1977-1987years, red film is slowly recovering from the oppression of " cultural revolution ". Three generations of directors made a full contribution to red film. Large quantities of red film were produced; the type and expression are in rich variety, won the industry and the audience of many of the high praise. Since1987, the " theme film " has developed a lot. With the support of the state, a number of outstanding important revolutionary historical document films and the important practical subject film were produced. The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the educational function, by selecting some representatives of the red movie from each stage of development. Analyze the educational function of the theme and modes of communication, and then find out the characteristics and laws. The fourth chapter mainly ponders over the movie and the prospects of it. Summarize the development of the movie experience and red shortage, and on the red film the development in the future to a view of the published. Red film will be combined with the actual conditions of social development, renew the posture and content to standing in socialist literature and art, for socialist mainstream values of carrying forward and fostering the contribution. |
