The psychological phenomena of the singer in the process of vocal sound and performance include sensation, perception, memory, imagination, thinking and so on. These psychological phenomena play an important regulatory role in the singer’ s sounding and singing, and guiding the biorgans’ normal movement. Imagination is one of the important psychological phenomenon. Both the formation of vocal sound skills and the improvement of vocal music art performance are inseparable from imagination. That is why it is necessary to make an in-depth systematic analysis and study on vocal art imagination.In this paper, the author used many methods to elaborate the topic——the study on vocal art imagination, such as literature material analysis method, experiential summary method, example demonstrates method and so on. In the first chapter, the author firstly introduces the three characteristics of vocal art:vocal is a "voice instrument"; vocal art is the combined action of physiology and psychology; vocal art is the organic bond of music and language. It leads to the research topic——imagination. Then the author sets forth vocal art imagination’s conception and classification, singing appearance, the relationship between imagination and other psychological factors. This chapter mainly describes the thinking relationship between imagination and memory, imagination and emotion, imagination and image. The second chapter mainly discusses the application of vocal art reproductive imagination and creative imagination. The first section is about the application of reproductive imagination in vocal breathing training, vocal resonance training,"open the throat", sounding training, the structuring of the language and the vocalizing of singing. The second section is about the application of creative imagination in the vocal performing art’s "Second Creation". It has more theoretical basis and practical significance to apply imagination to the vocal music training and "Second Creation". It provides a variety of learning ideas and methods for vocal beginners. Meanwhile, it provides some available teaching methods and thinking models for vocal music teachers. It plugs imaginary wings for handling and performing vocal works, and endows the vocal works’"second creation" with abundant vitality and artistic appeal.The third chapter expounds the two factors that influence the imagination’s development. The first factor is lacking of interest in learning vocal music. Interest is the best teacher. Without interest, one may have bad learning ability. The second factor is insufficient singing appearance accumulation. The singing appearance is the sourse and base of imagination. Without the accumulation of singing appearance, one is difficult to imagine. Then the author puts forward that the training of vocal art imagination should start from the following four aspects:the accumulation of singing appearance, the accumulation of vocal works, direct life accumulation and indirect social experience. The accumulation of musical representation includes the accumulation of musical language and musical works.The musical language’s learning and accumulation is the premise of singing and the accumulation of singing appearance. The accumulation of vocal music works includes appreciating and singing many vocal works. Appreciating and singingas as many vocal works as possible also can virtually increase the accumulation of singing appearance. The accumulation of these is the necessary knowledge and skills store for vocal learners before they learn to sing. Each person will have direct life accumulation and indirect social experience. The accumulation of these life appearance is in subtle affecting the individuals. So in our daily life, we must cultivate a good habit to observe more, read more books and love to learn. These accumulated life experiences can promote the learning capability.Imagination can visualize the vocal learning theoretical knowledge, crystallize abstract knowledge, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of vocal learning. Therefore, in the process of vocal training, performance and vocal teaching, both teachers and vocal learners should pay attention to and make good use of the imagination.
