A Study On Chenque’s Poetry

ChenQue was a famous thinker during the period of the later Ming Dynasty to the early Qing. As a historical celebrity, all of Chen’s aspects are worthy of deep study. But the fact is it always been the weak line of the research on Chen’s poetry. It’s very important for the comprehensive study and assesses the value of Chen, if we understand and grasp his poetic viewpoints and the meaning of poetry.The writer aims at Chen’s poetry, on one hand, to make his poetic viewpoints more clearly; on the other hand, to find out the factors that influenced his poetic viewpoints and poetry creation, and then, try the best to sum up the achievement on poetry narrative.The forward part is literature review. The first chapter discourses upon Chen’s poetic viewpoints, including his definition about the status of poetry and the methods how to produce a poem. The second and third chapters are mainly about the contents of his poetry, at the same time, it relates to some other thoughts, such as how to deal with the employer-employee relationship, some philosophic thoughts, the commentary on Buddhism, and the relationship between Chen and his wife. The forth chapter includes two parts, the first part is analyze the achievements on Chen’s poetry narrative on the premise of Chapter2&3; the second part is hammering away at the factor that influenced his poetic viewpoints and poetry creation. The conclusion part mainly about to look back at the whole article, then declared the importance of Chen’s poetry.
