Improvised piano accompaniment-performance course is a comprehensive music skills course developed with the practical demands of our music education majors.The improvised accompaniment-performance course experienced a development process near upon semicentennial from chaos and confusion to an orderly fashion since1960s. And now it has a3-tier (low, middle and high) education system. Lots of experience and achievements have been obtained during the long exploration; meanwhile many problems were also exposed.The writer has conducted extensive social research and intended to elaborate the historical development of this course in our country based on further comprehensive analysis and research on the materials. The writer’s views on some basic problems include:1. Summarizing achievements and experiences, for example, popularization of multi-part music thought; cultivating music talents who have a well-structured the knowledge base; the outstanding achievements in improving the music literacy and creativity of our citizen;2. Analyzing disputes, including the future development, definition of the nature; suitable student group and other controversial topics of the course;3. Proposing major factor which influences the quality of teaching, such as enrollment expansion, teacher quantity and quality, unclear basic education requirements, and etc.This paper defines the course direction through researches in order to promote long-term healthy development of this course in China...
