Ink animation as a cartoon form is created by China’s animation artist in the early nineteen sixties, it takes the traditional Chinese ink and wash painting forms as the basic mode for the animated characters and spatial expression, using special processing technology of animation shot the ink painting by shooting down, through continuous projection formed shades and activity images such as" little tadpole looking for Mom","landscape emotions" and a number of classic animation. Chinese ink animation has won the "Chinese School" reputation with a quality of poetry and painting, fresh and elegant, simple and meaningful in the international field of animation. But in nineteen ninties since, as a result of the market economy and the rise of commercial animation, traditional ink animation complex design process, it is difficult to design a large number of works to meet the audience’s growing television cultural demand in a short time, coupled with Japan and USA and other countries’ powerful animation movie and television culture dumping, it serious influence our countries’ audience appreciation taste, these factors have led to the decline of Chinese ink painting animation, and it begins to enter the development of low tide. In the late twentieth Century, the rapid development of digital technology enables domestic animation creator through computer operation platform for the water-ink animation creation, tries to revive Chinese ink animation, and have achieved some results. However, digital animation creators often has a superb digital technology skills, but lack the necessary painting accomplishment, the digital ink animation production level is not good, coupled with the domestic digital ink production team are mostly small and weak, it is difficult to form industrialization dimensions, these factors have limit the Chinese animation development.Under the background of the digital age in this paper, on the one hand, it will order the creation background and development process of traditional ink painting animation, analysis and inductive methods summed up the digital ink animation basis of the origins and development basis. On the other hand, in order to come down one continuous line between the traditional ink painting animation and digital, it will take analysis and comparison of methods. In addition to the digital era background of ink animation development present situation research, try to find out a method for the digital ink animation industrialization development, in order to explore a suitable road for the national conditions.
