In recent years, with the increasing attention of scholars both at home andabroad to the digitalization of the intangible cultural heritage, the protectionand inheritance of the intangible cultural heritage, as well as the sustainabledevelopment of the efforts for protection, has become an important subjectwhich we face today.Yunnan, is among the provinces which have most abundant ethnic culturalresources in China. Its distinctive ethnic arts, with unique value for research,aesthetics and utilization, are treasures of Chinese traditional culture. In theprocedure of constructing it as a province with diverse culture and strength, itpoints out that the cultural creative industry is an indispensable component.This paper took Poya Folk Songs of Zhuang nationality in Yunnanprovince as the specific research object, and designed the plot structures ofthe large series of cartoons of “Poya Folk Songs”, through the analysis andgeneralization of the artistic features of the81symbols in the Poya Folk Songs.In addition, I selected the first symbol in the book “Poya Folk Songs”—themoon—to start the creation of the animation script, and created anexperimental animation demo by using digital animation and post-synthesisprocessing technique. The paper explored the superiority and feasibility of thedigital animation technology in protecting and developing the Poya Folk Songs.In this sense, it can effectively help to protect and inherit the national cultureheritage, and to some certain extent, promote the development of the digitalanimation technology of intangible cultural heritage.This paper mainly studied how to combine the content of Poya Folk Songswith its animation art, and researched the complete story by developing thedatabase of the symbols of the Songs, drawing three-dimensional scenes withrealistic feelings, observing the scenes of the story from various angles, aswell as animation compositing and other means. The main contribution of this research contains the following three:1. Realized the presentation of the Poya Folk Songs by using digitalanimation techniques, and also initiates the research for the protection of thetraditional arts Poya Folk Songs.2. Established a complete set of digital animation model database forPoya Folk Songs of Zhuang nationality in Yunnan Province.3, Developed the workflow of creating Poya Folk Songs by using thedigital technique of three-dimensional animation.
