The article takes the striking category verbs in Modern Chinese as research target.Striking category verbs all have a sememic characteristic which contains a [+striking]in the rational meaning, so the category is an analogous word group.Referring toModern Chinese Dictionary, usage of Chinese Verbs Dictionary and with each strikingverbs in the Peking Uniersity corpus of Modern Chinese appear in the frequencycondition. We define37verbs.Taking advantage of previous study methods about analogous words, the authertry to make a complete studies on4elements lexical meaning analysis, syntacticdistribution, sentence characteristic, ancient and modern lexical meaning contrast andin order to find out the commom feature and individual feature.On lexical meaning, with the “model of lexical components-lexical structureanalysis”, the auther analyzes conceptual meaning of the37striking-category verbsand get5paradigmatic types, and analyze the similarities and differences of varioustypes of semanteme mode.Analyses of semantic feature and inferential meaning aimto discover the commonness and slight differences of each verb in semantic meaning.On syntactic distribution of the striking category verbs. The distibution of theverbs are located on subject position, object position and attributive position. All ofthem can be positioned on predictive; thumpm, hammer at, dash against, justle, knockagainst, can be positioned on subjects; beat, hammer at, knock out, tap, lap, flap, whip,dash against, justle, batter, knock against on objects and hammer at, dash against,knock against on attributives.On sentence, the article mainly aims at the sentence characteristics of the strikingcategory verbs. Every verb belonging to this kind of the striking verbs can choose thebasic sentence patterns, but differs in choosing the derivative sentence patterns. Andaccording to Yuan Yulin (1999) the imperative sentence on the verb type selectionare summarized and the use of language habits, The study found Striking categoryverbs can be used both in affirmative imperative sentence and negative imperativesentence. Meanwhile, a few of the verbs can be used in imperative sentence whichmeans urging, order, way and lingo imperative, and analyzes the reasons of itsindependence with a restricted which form of imperative.On ancient and modern lexical meaning contrast,“lexical components-lexicalstructure, mode” diagram of the d1,E and F three as the angle of view, on the Pre-Qin and Han Dynasties of the ancient Chinese and modern Chinese vocabulary system intwo different hands against the verbs are analyzed. Revealing their difference andanalysis of its reasons for the differences, in order to provide us more in-depthunderstanding of modern Chinese verbs of striking with a historical comparison ofdimension.
