Frederic Francois Chopin (1810-1849), the representative of romantic period, was known as the Poet of Piano. He was the pioneer of the european romantic musician of nineteenth century and also one of the earliest composer which melted the east european folk music into the western music art. In this thesis《Chopin:24Preludes》, one of his great piano artworks, combining with my personal practice and understanding, were analyzed. His life, experience, creation background and conception definition of the preludes were introduced and analyzed, six artistic features were summarized from the perspective of performance, more detailed analysis focused on the application of speed, expression, strength, tone, voice and pedal in order to get a better explanation of Chopin’s artistic features and inner expressive force and make the players express the composer’s inner heart world more deeply. I hope this thesis could improve my personal theory ability, make me grasp the entire performance features better and enrich the research of Chopin’s artworks.
