" Violence" and" Aesthetic" originally were two vocabularies that not relevant toeach other. It’s not sure when “Violence” and “Aesthetic” were combined into a newvocabulary "Violence Aesthetics ", and became a well-known concept." ViolenceAesthetics" was poped up in1990s, coming from the criticism of the famousHongkong film director Johnwoo’s works. It is a style of the film and a technique ofexpression, which originated in the violent film of the United States, and furtherdeveloped in Hongkong.After that with great influence on the violence moviewordwide,“Vilence Aesthetics” became a kind of artistic taste and formal exploration.As a kind of aesthetic proposition,it digestes the audience’s fears of violence, andneglectes or weakens the social functions and moral effects. This article will use "Violence Aesthetics" as the breakthrough point,and through the analysis of " violence"and" Violent movies" to explore the origin of"Violence Aesthetics ". The expressionsof violence in films during different periods have a deep connection with "ViolenceAesthetics ".Through the longitudinal combs of the developments of film history canwe enable to have a better understanding of the emerge and development of"Violence Aesthetics ". Today,"Violence Aesthetics " has become increasingly mature,showing different artistic styles in films. With different cultural backgrounds andtrends of different time, directors have created their unique styles of visual innovationof “Violence Aesthetics”.All the mentioned above have made “Violence Aesthetics”to obtain a more broader space for development.
