Study On Cultural Differences Of Documentary Creation Between China And Western Countries

In the new century, China’s thousands of years’cultures are impacted by the Western civilization under the influence of economic globalization, and the original single culture is developing toward the multi-cultural pattern. For the different social life and productive work, irreplaceable national culture formed between the western countries and China, Which makes great differences of anthropological Documentary creation between the western countries and China. This thesis focuses on comparing such diversities in order to absorb beneficial culture at home and abroad, enhance cultural exchange, resist cultural integration and spread the Chinese traditional culture achievements.Anthropological documentary is a special type one, which generally focuses on the human survival condition and cultural development as the recorded content, and is of more culture connotation than other documentary. Also it closely linked the culture. Taking such kind documentaries as example, this thesis will compare those considering different cultural contexts at home and abroad. Firstly, the thesis explains the definition and history stages of the anthropological documentary, illustrates the situation that China’s anthropology documentary development lagging behind the western countries, and discuss the culture and cross culture that reflected the close relationship between the anthropology documentary and the culture. Secondly, the thesis studies the influence from the different culture context at home and aboard. Yellow farming civilization gives birth to the Chinese culture, and the blue ocean civilization created a brilliant civilization of Western culture. These two different kinds of civilization make our China form a single culture but make western countries from multi-culture. We attach importance to the group groups while Western people emphasize individual people. Our Chinese pay attention to the traditional culture, respect the teachers and elders, but the Westerners love science and pursuit the equality. All of those cultures difference are reflected in the anthropology documentary creation, which greatly influenced the creation theme, human spirit, aesthetic orientation and teaching relationship. By the means of comparison, we can know that the creation differences of anthropological documentary between the western countries and China are rooted in the thousands of years of cultural heritage which cannot change overnight. So it is impossible to make our anthropological documentary similar to westerns ones. Finally, the thesis focuses on exchange of the anthropology documentary and its learning, discussed how to how to make our China’s anthropology documentary popular in the world in the different culture context at home and abroad, then explore the development trend of anthropological documentary from a cultural angle, the perspective of creative method as well as the spread angle.
