We are in a coming era of visual culture, which is a perceived culture.Theperception is the most important channel to communicate with the world, the world’smaterial and spiritual. Dependent on the language of rational thinking is increasinglygiving way to rely on visual perceptual thinking, the image beyond the language hasbecome the symbol of the world’s characterization. However, under the variouscountries’ different traditional visual cultural traditions, how to break thecommunication exchanges between the traditional visual culture, or how to spread thedifferent performance of the environment in the context of globalization effectively, isone of the problems to be solved in the visual building and the visual communication.National propaganda film based on the visual symbols of real-life, shows filmprocessing and arrangement to the viewer by signification film symbols. Because ofthese strategies, it makes the whole film to a complete and compact promotional text.The emergence of national propaganda film is beneficial to strengthen the exchangeswith the world, attract the attention of the world, and bring a positive impact to thecountry in a long-term development. Through the analysis of the propaganda films’symbol text, compared with other countries’ national propaganda film, it can help us tounderstand how the films translate the symbols into visual text, and use the visualnarrative strategy across the East-West cultural differences, in order to achieve a betterpurpose of dissemination by conveying film.This article,based on the knowledge systems and the related theory of semiotics,image, aesthetics and science of communication,explores a deeper cultural connotationsbehind the double frames of signification which publicize the text visual symbol andanalyses visual representation and cultural representation in the visual symbol ofnational propaganda film,by means of the analysis of three Chinese image advertising inthe two nearly years and comparing with the film of Japan and the United States.This article analyses the similar and differences in the choice of visual symbols ofChina,Japan and the United States, and analyses the questionnaire about the film whichbuilds the visual, how to attract the audience, how to minimize the distortions of visualsymbols in the cross-cultural understanding during the communication process. To reacha conclusion, this article based on survey analysis, and mainly analyses by classificationcomparison.
