Robert Schumann is an excellent19th century German Romantic composer, music critic, he made a great contribution to the development of the German Romantic music. Schumann created a lot of piano music in his lifetime and pioneered the genre of the piano divertimento."Butterfly" is one of his earliest creation which was completed in1831. This piano divertimento is composed of twelve depicting pieces, its creation reflects the headline features of Schumann’s music, and also allows us to see the dual nature of Schumann’s character.Through in-depth analysis of the creative background, creative tactics and playing skills of12short pieces of Schumann’s piano divertimento "Butterfly", this article let us have a clearer understanding of this work, and meanwhile exploit its rich musical image, the connection to the theme of unity and a unique playing style.The paper is divided into introduction, body and conclusion three parts, the body is divided into three sections:The first part, Introduction, introduces the composer Robert Schumann’s life profiles and the background of the creation of "Butterfly"The second part, the first chapter introduces the types and characteristics of Schumann’s music and piano music created at different times; The second chapter is the musical analysis of the "’Butterfly piano divertimento, including the characteristics of the image profiling of12short pieces of music and musical harmonies etc. which reflects the uniqueness of the creation of Schumann. The third chapter describes the playing techniques of the "Butterfly" in detail and combs the playing skills of each piece. This section is the focus of this article. Especially chapter three conducts a micro-analysis of the various sketches of the works from a purely technical field, and provides a reference for playing, so that players have a clear grasp of the actual playing techniques and styles.The third part, Conclusion.
