The Research Of Taiwan’s New Century Youth Film

The Youth Film is one of the ignorable films creating in Taiwan. From the Blue Gate Crossing in2002to the You Are the Apple of My Eye in2011, the Taiwan Youth Film formed the unique artistic expressions and made the great repercussions in our society because of its aesthetic images, poetic narratives and emotional expressions.This paper depends on the current condition and history of the Taiwan Youth Films to analyses the Youth Films from the New Century. The first chapter of this paper mainly categories the Youth films for Genre research. The second chapter intended to emphasize the image style, narratives, the mutual help and transitions between the arts and commerciality of the Youth films. The third chapter tracks the inertial reasons of the booming of Youth films in recent years which relate to the emergency of several cutting-edge Taiwan directors, the imperfect Taiwan film system, the prosperous local youth culture and the influence of external cultures.
