Study On Youth Film Of Taiwan Since 2000

Since 2000 the Taiwan youth film has been the mainstream type in the movie market of Taiwan. It has a unique story design and its own characteristics, which is famous among the moviegoers on both sides and opens up a new way for Taiwan’s film industry.Based on the status of Taiwan film, this paper makes a carding and classification of Taiwan youth film by the research methods of the genre film, the sociology, the culturalogy, the narratology, etc. At the same time, it discusses the development feature of Taiwan youth film since 2000 that proceeds from the production mechanism, the social background and the creators. This paper sees the Taiwan youth film as a whole for the first time through the subtype classification. In the perspective of the narrative theme, creator’s characteristics, the actor style and narrative langue environment, it analyzes the overall features and style of current Taiwan youth film.This paper regards the Taiwan youth film since 2000 as the object of study and makes a selective analysis of the representative works and characteristics of the subtype classification within the theme of youth. In addition to the instruction and conclusion, the full article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter makes a brief overview for the development of Taiwan youth film from the definition to the rise of Taiwan youth movie. The second part, based on the protagonist younger, the movie actors’ style and the sex character and formative style of the director and creative groups, analyzes the characteristics of the creation subject in Taiwan youth movies since the new century. The third chapter is the key part, which makes a subtype classification for the Taiwan youth film and explores the classification combining with the specific film. In the forth chapter, it studies the space and culture of urban and the popular music appearing in the Taiwan youth movies and their effects on the creation and development of youth films. In the fifth part, based on current development of the Taiwan youth movie in the Taiwan film industry, it explains the influence of youth films on Taiwan youth movies and the Chinese movies.
