| Elegiac address is used to express the feeling of grief or memoriam. As a literary form which has a long history, funeral oration has a historical origin with ancient cult. During its development, Elegiac address has many literary style divergences. In this paper, the author chooses to study on four more representative styles of Elegiac address which are Aiwen (Lament), Leiwen (writings eulogizing a dead), Funeral oration and Eulogy text, hoping to find out the features and regularities during its development. In despite of there are numerous theses and treatise on the ancient literary form, either they focus on only one literary form or they analyze the literary form in terms of text features, ignoring the similarity they share and the difference between elegiac addresses. Based on text reading of Aiwen (Lament), Leiwen (writings eulogizing a dead), Funeral oration and Eulogy text, while considering the analysis and research on classification of the ancient literary style, the author divides this paper into three chapters. Firstly, cutting form the origin and development of elegiac address, the author takes Han Dynasty as the formative period of Elegiac address and Wei-Jin, Southern&Northern Dynasties as its prosperous period. Secondly, through vertical comparison on texts, this paper summarizes the similarity and difference between the four styles. At the same time, through horizontal analysis and vertical comparison on emotional journey of these four styles’occurrence and development, this paper focus on the exist of difference of emotional intensity between different styles and the emotional weakening in the same style during its development. Thirdly, this paper sums up the creation situation of Elegiac address during Wei-Jin, Southern&Northern Dynasties through analysis on the data statistics and analyzes literature value and artistic value in terms of diction and aesthetic aspect performed by Elegiac address. This thesis put up with a special angle for studying ancient literary style comprehensively and especially supplies more overall grounds of argument for studying the development of Elegiac address during Wei-Jin, Southern&Northern Dynasties. At the same time, the literariness discusses on Elegiac address in this paper may also can be supplement for study of literary culture in Wei-Jin, Southern&Northern Dynasties. |
