| Culture permeates into music and music embodies its culture. Folk songs, which heavily depend on certain natural and social environment and whose inheritance has strong folk art forms, are locally characterized. Folk songs from different areas have unique musical cultural temperament, which is influenced and defined by local culture. And the formation of cultural characteristics is the mixed result of many objective elements. Folk songs, an artistic manifestation, have the same characteristics with their local culture and their own rules and characteristics of development and change as well.The author explores the history, culture and music, which contribute, to the birth of Rounding up Cattle Slowly of Anhui:one of the second batch national non-material cultural heritages from the perspective of ethnomusicology. Its geographical features, historical origin, regional cultural features and so on are discussed on this folk song popular in Dabie Mountains of Anhui and the relations between its deeply-rooted cultural connotations and relevant cultural elements are worked out. |
