With the rapid development of China, the country has played amore and more important role in the world. A great number offoreigners come to China, especially those overseas students oncampus. As a member of them, I choose this major due to my deepinterest in Chinese. I attended various courses during the two years’study in the university. For my part, the most impressive course is thepicture talk course. Different from the oral Chinese course, this coursecan be regared as an assistant course for the oral Chinese course. As aunique course, the picture talk course deepens our comprehension andrememberance of the Chinese characters with the help of pictures. Thiscourse should attract students’ attention because it’s a nouval course,but actually only a few students attend this course. Therefore, I intend tostudy the reason why students have lower interest in this course andillustrate the way to improve the teaching methods and to make theteaching objective clearer. The Gaming Teaching Method andMultimedia Approach mentioned in this thesis can be used to activeclassroom atmosphere and enhance students’ interest. As a result, thepicture talk course will have a promising future.
