The TV dramabecomes a popular form to the ordinary audience as a culture type. The TV drama alsomakes a great progress in this new period. As a consequence, the domestic spy dramasgradually grow up in this big environment and form a new clear context. The spydramas firstly come to eyes since the first two hot development periods of the anti-spyfilms. Since the first spy drama “Eighteen Years of Enemy’s Camp” appears, the spydramas obtained a rapid development in the new century, and the characteristics ofdifferent types of spy dramas gradually becomes stable and mature. The point is thatthe performance can meet the need of the audience as a kind of thematic culture. Thedevelopment of spy dramas is not only a cultural phenomenon, but also a spreadphenomenon, and the subject is highly worth to be focused and researched.The topic of my article is focused on this phenomenon. Firstly, the subject in thispaper analyses the development periods of the spy dramas, which can be divided tothree parts called the beginning period, the booming period, and the explorative period.Secondly, the paper focuses on the analyses of the aesthetic characteristics based onthe subject characteristics, the narrative structure, and figure characteristics. Thirdly,take the drama “Before The Dawn” as an example, the paper analyses the audience’saccept psychology from the aspects that the social and culture psychology and theaesthetic psychology, then obtains the reasons why the spy drama is so popular. Lastly,the paper points out the realistic problems exist in the spy dramas like the lemmingmode and America trend mode, And the paper suggests three corresponding solutions.The paper expects to afford some effects to the future development of the spy dramas.
