In contemporary Chinese literature, the “military literature” film adaptations mainly aim at such works as showing military life and portraying soldier image. After experencing a hight tight, military literature in China had been marching into the troughs. Since the1980s, the military literature in its development has been undergoing a huge turn in the writing focus, which takes expressing the inner emotional world of soilders as the highest target for writers.The TV series "Burning Passion" enjoys a great succee after its first show in Beijing Television in the year2002. With the repeated broadcast in major national satellite TV stations, an unexpected sensation was generated. The TV series "History of the Sky" ranked the first in terms of rebroadcast rate of the year in2004."Showing Your Swords" created a miraculous high audience rate in its first show on CCTV Channel1in september2005. Acrodding to cctv ratings survey,"Showing Your Swords" has an average viewing rate of10.3percent at that time, winning the champinship of the year."Showing Your Swords" consequently became the top words of2005. Being widely cited by all walks of life,"Showing Your Swords" is synonymous with not afraid to struggle and challenge. Thus, the reception of the military drama upsurge was upcoming.Compared with the works on the similar theme which occurred before the policy of reform and opening, the writers in the works described above composed differently in the following aspects:they wrote penetratingly about the social life and the mental state of the main characters; further more, they emphasised on the career and life of soldiers defined by certain epochs under the backgrond of a market economy. This type of military dramas together with military novels and essays explain the theme of "war and peace" and reflect the change of Chinese society from many different viewpoints. Thus, military dramas can not only cover war movie and military film, but can also refer to such aesthetic,emotional and humanized dramas that focus on life in military campsites.This thesis shall focus on the study of representative works of the movies and teleplays of military literature in the new century, which involves:"Showing Your Swords" by Douliang,"Soldiers Sortie" by Lan Xiaolong,"History of the sky " by Xu Guixiang,"Burning Passion" and "Snow Leopard" by Amateur Sniper,"Last Bullet Left Me" by Liu Meng. Through analysis, this thesis systematically reviews the representative works of the movies and teleplays of military literature in the new century. It discourses upon the movies and teleplays patterning of military literature in the new century from three aspects. The first part aims at the characters in the movies and teleplays of military literature in the new century. The second part focuses on the emotional patterning in the movies and teleplays of military literature in the new century. The third part deals with the plot patterning in the movies and teleplays of military literature in the new century.
