The relationship between monitoring and control is an important issue in the study of metacognition. The Judgment of Learning is an important form of metacogn-itive monitoring, and the allocation of Study Time is an important form of metacogn-itive control. So the purpose that explore the relationship between Judgment of Learning and allocation of Study Time is to discover the relationship between monito-ring and control. Previous studies indicated that metacognitive montoring affects control processes.Someone revealing his own learning and memory activities in order to control the learning process effectively and allocate the study time reasonably. However Koriat found that the allocation of study time actually serves a dual function in the different driven.lt subserves a monitoring function as well as a control function. For sometimes the metacognitive monitoring follows control operations and is based on the feed back form the control. Therefore, based on its dual function, some studies on JOLs and the allocation of study time were reviewed, the relation models between them——the MC Model (monitoring affects control hypothesis) and the CM Model (control affects monito-ring hypothesis). At the same time, Koriat indicated that this two models are not conflict, and he discussed the combinational dynamic models in which MC model and CM model interrelate and interact with each other. The aim of this study is to verify the different relationship between JOLs and the allocation of Study Time in MC Model or in CM Model, then also try to verify the combinational dynamic models. So this study includes three experiments, in the frist experiment through manipulate the driven of the allocate study time, it demonstrates that the different relationship between immediate-JOLs and the allocation of study time. In the second experiment also through manipulate the driven of the allocate study time, it demonstrates that the different relationship between delayed-JOLs and the allocation of study time. Then in the third experiment, we try to explore the combinational dynamic models in which MC model and CM model interrelate and interact with each other. The conclusions drawn from this study are as follows:(1)When the allocation of study time is data driven, judgment of learning decrease with study time.(2)When the allocation of study time is goal driven, judgment of learning increase with study time.(3)The different drivens of the allocate study time—data driven and goal driven—can exist in the one process. The monitoring and control interrelate and interact with each other.
