How we can learn better from folk arts to expand the artistic language of ink and people paintings is a problem worthy of careful consideration. Based on the facts, historical origin and aesthetic orientation, the design, hue and significance of folk arts are re-summarized. From the perspective of creation and teaching of ink and people paintings, the author employs such research methods as illustration and comparison to analyze individual cases and explore elements of folk arts, which can be the reference of contemporary ink and people paintings. Finally, some personal opinions about ink and people painting are mentioned in this paper.
