Sinmay Zau, a typical spiritual aristocrat, called upon people to get rid of the utility and vulgar thought by propagating and creating aesthetic literature to fulfill the ideal of improving the citizen’s aesthetic judgment. This idea makes Sinmay communicate with aesthete regardless of the distance and it also helps him to resonate with western aristocratic spirit. Unfortunately, as the tradition of Chinese aristocrat gradually faded away after the first Emperor of the Qin Dynasty unified China, the people then equate feudal class with aristocratic one and the misunderstanding to’aristocrat’ has been deepened after the anti-feudal May Fourth Movement. Therefore, Sinmay’s writings were regarded as pernicious impulse and the people were rushing to condemn its undisguised textures. At the same time, his achievements in the press and translation field have been ignored, and so have his efforts for the prosperity of the whole era. Thus, in the first chapter of the paper Sinmay’s spiritual substance is restored---what is spiritual beauty Sinmay is tracing. The second chapter explores the aesthetical views and reasons which Sinmay, the beauty seeker, has taken from the trend of though in aestheticism by tracing the origin of his esthetics thought and integrating with his critical articles. The third chapter shows the beauties Sinmay has sought in the artistic creation through comparatively analyzing the poetry and novel texts of Sinmay and several aesthetic writers.
