A Comparative Study On Self-concept And Professional Values Students Between Higher Vocational College And Ordinary University

The professional values is a kind of beliefs and attitude on how to treat professional, or value tendency that people show in professional life, which reflects values in the professional choice. Recently10years, our country researchers have done a lot of study on the present situation of college student’s professional choice, influence factors, and relevant counter measures and suggestion, and obtained a certain result. But, it is still few to compare the difference of professional values between the higher vocational college and ordinary universities’ students. The stuffy aims to investigate the professional value of two different student groups by the questionnaire, and analysis the factors which affect the university students’ professional values.The study analysises the level of self-concept and professional values students between higher vocational college and ordinary university, and draws the following conclusions:(1)The higher vocational college students self-concept’s comprehensive conditions and factor are higher than ordinary university students’, significantly higher than the ordinary university student’ in the identity, self satisfaction and social self. The school class, gender, grade and major background causing the college students self-concept’s main effect, which reached significant levels, and the higher vocational college students show a kind of pseudo self-concept, further reflects unreasonable professional values, and blocks that the higher vocational college students know themselves objectively and correctly.(2)The overall of higher vocational college students’ professional values are higher than the ordinary university students’, higher than the ordinary university students in the popularity of status and health factors of professional values, lower than the ordinary university students’ in the self development, but, not significantly different; The school class, gender, grade and major background cause the difference of professional values, which reaches a kind of significant level.(3)Whether the higher vocational or ordinary college students, the self-concept and professional values have a significant positive correlation.
