| In this study,1260 students in Nanjing Engineering Vocational College were selected as research subjects.The corresponding questionnaires of Professional values scale,SES and AMS were used to examine the characteristics and relationships among occupational value,self-esteem and achievement motivation.The research results show that:(1) The dimension of welfare in occupational value was reported as the most important aspect for higher vocational college students to choose their jobs, self-development is the second most important factor,and the dimension of reputation was not valued same as the first two dimensions.(2) For higher vocational college students,reputation exists significant difference in major; Self development exists significant difference in grade; Welfare does not exist any significant difference in demographic variables.(3) For higher vocational college students,self-esteem exists significant differen-ce in family residence,and there is no significant difference in gender,grade,major or only and non-only child.(4) For higher vocational college students,the motivation of pursuing success exists significant difference in gender and grade ; The motivation of avoiding failure exists significant difference in grade;The level of achievement motivation does not exist any significant difference in demographic variables.(5) There is an obvious positive correlation between self-esteem and the reputation,welfare,self-development.Self-esteem plays an important role in the positive prediction of that three dimensions.(6) There is an obvious positive correlation between the motivation of pursuing success and reputation,welfare,self-development.The motivation of pursuing success plays an important role in the positive prediction of that three dimensions;There is an obvious positive correlation between achievement motivation and self-development,there is a positive correlation between achievement motivation and reputation,there is a negative correlation between achievement motivation and welfare.At the same time,the achievement motivation can only play an important role in the positive prediction of self-development.(7) There is an obvious positive correlation between self-esteem and the motivation of pursuing success,the level of achievement motivation. Self-esteem plays an important role in the positive prediction of that two dimensions;There is an obvious negative correlation between self-esteem and the motivation of avoiding failure.Self-esteem plays an important role in the negative prediction of the motivation of avoiding failure.(8) Achievement motivation plays a role of partly mediation between self-esteem and self-development.Thus,conclusions can be drawn:The more self-esteem that the higher vocational college students have,the more emphases they attaches to the reputation,welfare and self-development;The more self-esteem that the higher vocational college students have,the more achievement motivation they have;The higher vocational college students with a strong achievement motivation consider more self-development in the occupational value;Achievement motivation is the mediator between the self-esteem and self-development in the occupational values,and in this process,self-esteem influence and self-development in the occupational values through achievement motivation. |
