An Analysis Of FIDIC Cconditions’ Chinese Translation From The Perspective Of Adaptation Theory

FIDIC Conditions’ translation is the result of adapting to the trend of globalization and fulfilling the demand of international communication. The significance of its translating does not only lie in the translation of its legislation meaning, but also in settling the economic and legislative disputes for every country. Verschueren thought that language use is a procedure of choosing and adaptation. Translation is also a kind of language use, so it is regarded as a dynamic choosing and adaptation. Under the guidance of this theory, this thesis conducts a research on the Chinese version of FIDIC Conditions, discussing the adaptation theory analysis methods for text translation, and evaluating the quality of FIDIC Conditions’ translation version from the four perspectives of adaptation theory:contextual correlates of adaptability; structural objects of adaptability; dynamics of adaptability and salience of the adaptation process, presenting a new perspective on FIDIC Conditions’ Chinese translation studies.
