Studv Character Norms From <Shuovven Jiezi>

Chinese characters norms existed since ancient times and throughout the entirecourse of the evolution of Chinese characters,which includes making word books andmarking the words.As a word book,<Shuowen Jiezi> is composed mainly ofXiaoZhuan and colligate GuWen、ZhouWen、HuoTi and so on,which naturally playsthe role of standardizing words.From the purposes of XuShen producing <ShuowenJiezi>,which is resolving falsehood、enlightening scholars、achieving spirit,since he isto restore the original appearance of the ancient characters, and thus better serveclassics in ancient script.Then taking Qin XiaoZhuan as normative eusomy isinevitable.While taking some character as eusomy is a norm for characters. This isalso pointed out the others as the vulgar characters,which formed the concept ofChongWen.After <Shuowen Jiezi>,the use and development of the characters werebrought into the standardized track.We can say it is the Han Dynasty "normativecharacter table”,which had a profound impact on the normal development of the latercharacters. In a clear identity under the premise of XiaoZhuan in <ShuoWen> andXiaoZhuan finished by Li Si, this article starts with the evolution of XiaoZhuan.Froma synchronic and historical point of view,this article respectively contrasts<ShuoWen> prefix XiaoZhuan with <ShuoWen> ChongWen and Qin bamboo slips inorder to examin the norms embodied in <ShuoWen>. Finally, by contacting themodern characters to illustrate the significance of the Hanzi standardization andlanguage reform.The dissertation has four ehapters as follows:The first chapter rintroduces the current sitution of this research about thesimplifed feature、the purpose and the methods of this dissertation.It also explains theconcepts,such as normative characters、 characters’ norms and relative ancientcharacters. And it introduces the range of the materials.The second chapter, in a clear identity under the premise of XiaoZhuan in<ShuoWen> and XiaoZhuan finished by Li Si,,starts with the evolution ofXiaoZhuan,while also on the absorption about QinXi characters to LiuGuo characters.The third chapter respectively contrasts <ShuoWen> prefix XiaoZhuan with<ShuoWen> ChongWen and <QingChuan MuDu>and <ShuiHuDi> that belong to Qin bamboo slips to examin the norms embodied in <ShuoWen>.The fourth chapter contacts the pros and cons of the modern ChineseReform,from the successful norms in <ShuoWen> to look at the reference andsignificance of norms and reform on modern Chinese characters...
