Shuowenjiezi is the Chinese first dictionary with radical scheduling of analyzingthe shape of characters systematically, probing into the character source, examinatingthe literal meaning. There are forty-five bovine word in Shuowenjiezi. Compared withother livestock, bovine word recorded in Shuowenjiezi is more. Study of bovine wordmeaning system, the evolvement and cultural implication, has important significancein the philology, the culture research. The article is styled with bovine word ofShuowenjiezi for the object of study, is applied research methods such as classifyingcomparing, and is carried out all-round and thorough research.The article is divided into five parts. The first part is introduction. It is summarystatement on the previous bovine word of Shuowenjiezi research results, andinnovation. The second part has a research in textual meaning of bovine word andrelated to bovine meanings, on the basis of it, carrying out systematic classification,building more complete bovine word meaning system. The third part compares bovineword in Shuowenjiezi with inscription on oracle bones, inscriptions on ancient bronzeobjects, Li calligraphy, regular script and we can draw the overall development trendof Chinese characters. Then we carry out bovine word of Shuowenjiezi and theModern Chinese Dictionary in preserved bovine word for comparative analysis andsummarize Chinese characters development and their evolution law. The fourth partexplains and analyzes cultural connotation of bovine word, at the same time discussesbovine word involve sacrifice culture, and reveals the relationship between cultureand word, and analysis of Chinese national thinking from the specific thinking toabstract thinking development process. At last, we complete the stereo structuresystem about bovine word.
