A Study On The "Zhu" Part Of Shuowenjiezi

Shuowenjiezi wrote by Xushen is the first classics which had been arranged by the radical,, analyzing the graphemic, meaning and sound systematically. It will be great benefit to the research of linguistics to study the words of each part of Shuowenjiezi. Basing upon the "Zhu" part of Shuowenjiezi, this paper makes a tentative research in the denomination of the words and exposits the cultural meanings of the words. This paper consists of three parts:Firstly, this paper classifies the words according to their meanings. In general, those words can be classified into 5 categories: the names of bamboo, the position names of bamboo; the appearance of bamboo, the produces from bamboo and "others" which including the words can't classed to first four categories. As the biggest proportion , produces from bamboo are the core of Shuowenjiezi-Caobu which can be further classified as produces for military, produces for economy, produces for culture and art, produces for transportation, produces for penalty and other produces.Secondly, this paper deals with the denomination. It analyses some concept. Then introduce the method used to analyze the denominated meanings. At the last of the part ,this paper analyze the denominated meanings.Thirdly, introduces the cultural implications reflected in Shuowenjiezi-Caobu briefly.
