Researching On Modal Particles Of 《yuan Kan Za Ju30zhong》

《yuan kan za ju30zhong》is the only extant edition of Yuan Dynasty Drama thatexists in uan Dynasty. It has lots of modal particles. But compared with currentresearches and materials, the research on the modal particles of Yuan Dynasty was notenough. They were not accurate in description or not scientific in explanation.The paper basing on the New Revision of Drama of30kinds of Yuan Dynasty,collects all its modal particles, describes and explains them in detail with the help offormer research. The modal particles appeared in Yuan Dramas were put in thesynchronic background of modern Chinese and the diachronic background of thehistory and developing of Chinese modal particles, illustrated all the modal particlesfrom pragmatic point, and discusses the historic origin of some modal particles andlater development. The paper tries to use some theories of Grammaticalization,Subjective and some Lexicalization to discuss the time, course, motivation, andFormation mechanism of some modal particles. The paper also includes somecombination of comparison and explanation, synchronic and diachronic, aiming todescribe the use, developing features and rheological situation of modal particles.The paper consists of four chapters. The first chapter preface, discusses sometheories related to modal particles, for example, what is modal and what are the waysof express modal. The chapter lists some views about these basic problems, aiming toput forward the cognition of modal particles.Trying to introduce the researching object,the features of materials, the researching methods, the meaning of theme and originalpoints, and evaluates some dissertations and works related to the modal particles ofNew Revision of 《yuan kan za ju30zhong》.The second and the third chapter are very important, describing in details all the35modal particles of New Revision of 《yuan kan za ju30zhong》, counting the usingtime and frequency of every modal particle and explain all their uses and meaning.The last chapter is a conclusion, making a conclusion of the paper and pointingout some problems that need to be solved later.
