Quangang Zone, which belongs to Quanzhou, Fujian Province, just locatedin the junction area of southern and eastern Fujian province. There are threedialects in this area which including Toubei Dialect, Southern Fujian Dialectand Puxian Dialect. Among them, Toubei Dialect the the most unique one.Because of its unique geographical and historical backgrounds, ToubeiDialect has the characteristics of Quanzhou Dialect and Puxian Dialect, alsowith an evident of transition between these two dialects. Meanwhile, it has itsown unique characteristics and it also maintains some traces of Chinesephonetic system development.We can undercover its uniqueness after comparing it with the medievalphonetic system, Mandarin, Quanzhou Dialect and Puxian Dialect. Theconsonant system of Toubei Dialect is much closer to the consonant system ofPuxian Dialect, the vowels system of Toubei Dialect is much closer to thevowels system of Quanzhou Dialect, while the tone system of Toubei Dialectis much closer to the tone system of Puxian Dialect.
