This article takes the art creativity of children as a starting point, the picture book asthe study object, studies the psychological impact generated by picture book in theirgrowth process from the view of children’s aesthetics, and the interaction during theactivities of children’s artistic creation. We analyze the influence on children’s cognitiveabilities and aesthetic in detail, thus affects the art creativity of them, mainly from someaspects of the picture book, such as the color of illustrations, image modeling, thediversity of format design and reading of page turning.In our domestic picture book research, mostly focuses on art creation skills andeducational significance of the picture book, but less on academic theory analysis and theinfluence of the picture book on children’s art creativity. That is to say, the research ofaiming at children’s picture books hasn’t formed a systematic research. However, withthe constant innovation of the children’s picture books and the gradual emphasis on earlyeducation, some scholars start to expound the various values of the picture books, andfrom different views to analyse, thus seeking the intrinsic value of the picture books orthe innovative methods. Based on the discussion of vast picture books and essays, thispaper attempts to survey the value of children’s picture books from a new view bycollecting and analyzing the existing related literatures of the home and abroad, and thenon the basis of probing into the aesthetic characteristics of children’s picture books tocontribute our own poor power to the development of children’s creativity of our country.
