Rorty’s Criticism Of The Foundationalism And The Signiifcance Of It

From the beginning of the ancient Greek, philosophy had developed for a longtime.In this long hietory,many Proposition had be criticized to disappeared andrebuild. In this process,philosophers always interrogate that What is philosophy?What is the status of philosophy? What is the basis of this view? Differentphilosophers have Different viewpoints.But as philosophers all know, philosophy always had a traditional,this traditionalis foundationalism.Foundationalism is not a faction, and it’s not also a view,too.Foundationalism is just a tradition, which is belong to the hietory of the philosophyfrom the ancient Greek to now.This tradition had to be criticized from then on.In this history, philosophy of the world is experienced great changes and reforms,and the design of erect an eternal knowledge framework from traditional westernphilosophy has be fallen.Since the middle19th century, western philosophy had a turning which isopposite to the anti-traditional philosophy.Many philosophers opposite to thetraditional of Foundationalism.Rorty is one of the these philosophers. He establishedthe post-philosophical culture theory. Rorty derives the privilege of philosophy, hethink,there is no one culture department possesses privilege, philosophy and otherculture are all equal.This article is divided into three parts， the first part is to elaborate what isfoundationalism and what is its characteristic.This is the reason ofAnti-foundationalism to be the mainstream.The second part discourse the way how tocriticism the foundationalism.First, Rorty criticism the mirror of natural,then, Rortycriticism the mirror of soul. So, Rorty disintegrate the basic of thefoundationalism.Then, Rorty used edifying philosophy change the philosophy andmake the philosophy into the hermeneutics and enlightenment philosophy.At the endof the article,I evaluate the contribution of Rorty’s view,and elaborate the new wayand new direction of philosophy which is from Rorty.
