As a tool of communication, English is used more and more widely in contemporary China. For college students, it is more important to improve the communication ability. However the current oral English teaching is unsatisfactory. For changing the situation, the paper does a work of connecting the theories of seniors, and gives out the own views to improve the teachers’ teaching levels and stimulate the students’ learning motivation to improve their communication ability. This article mainly includes the following content:firstly, it summarizes the situation of research in domestic and foreign countries, and expands the research background, purpose and significance to point out the necessity of the reforming of teaching strategy. Second, it focuses on the strategies of teaching preparation, course introduction, class interaction, territory and autonomous learning. We can use these strategies to stimulate the students’learning motivation. In the last, the paper points out the problems in oral English teaching and the research direction of development in future.
