With the sustainable growth of economy in China and consequent upsurge of learningChinese in the world, more and more foreigners have been joined in the army of learningand practicing Chinese. One of the group among them is formed by the foreigners whoare working and living in China due to the employment reasons. Oriented towards theforeigner businesspersons who are working in the foreign-funded enterprises in Shanghaiand based on the first-hand and objective data collected from them, this survey andresearch report is designed to figure out the actual situation what they encountered and thereal difficulty to be solved and put forward relevant suggestions about Chinese learningand teaching that make sense to them for the purpose of increasing their interest andmotivation to learn Chinese in a more living and more efficient way. Therefore, it canmake some contribution to the booming development of Chinese International Educationin China.The article is divided into five chapters. As the introduction part, Chapter1explainswhy the topic is selected from the perspectives of reason, purpose and method. The partsfrom Chapter2to Chapter5is the key contents of the article. Of which Chapter2describes the process of the entire survey from three different phases of preparation,execution and analysis respectively. Chapter3and Chapter4are the main parts of thepaper, which not only focus on the key points on the informants and questionnaire but alsoon the summary of survey, illustration of statistics and briefing of analysis accordingly. Asthe conclusion and suggestion part, Chapter5covers the summary on the survey andlimitations and bring out suggestions pointed to the issues arisen from the survey with theaim of improving the Chinese learning and laying down a basis for further research andstudy in the future.
