With the development of globalization and the Belt and Road initiative,the trading between China and foreign countries has become more frequent.In consequence,the number of foreign-funded enterprises is increasing,which has injected new vitality into the local economy and promoted the continuous development of the whole country's economy.However,the foreign-funded enterprises will also face many new problems.Among them,intercultural conflict of employees in foreign-funded enterprises can't be avoided.How does cultural intelligence affect employee's job performance?This paper takes the foreign-funded enterprises in Xi'an,an important city in the Silk Road Economic Zone,as research objects.Firstly,questionnaires including the cultural intelligence scale was conducted to test the cultural intelligence of 130 employees in 5high-tech manufacturing companies.Besides,interviews were employed to make sure that the respondents have a good understanding of the questionnaire.After that,correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted to discover the influence of cultural intelligence on job performance through SPSS23.0.It is found that all of the four dimensions of cultural intelligence have a significant positive influence on employees' job performance;metacognitive CQ and motivational CQ are closely related with employees' job performance.At the same time,there is a significant positive correlation between the level of foreign language proficiency and the four dimensions of cultural intelligence.Based on the research results,this paper put forward three suggestions to improve the cultural intelligence of employees who work in foreign-funded enterprises,including designing a training program,integrating cultural intelligence evaluation into employees' performance appraisal system,and expatriation program.Hopefully,on the one hand,this study can expand the application of cultural intelligence in China and provide empirical evidence to the influence of cultural intelligence on job performance;on the other hand,this research also tries to provide some reference for the human resource management and further development of foreign-funded enterprises.
