The Chinese character is the only words that has a long history and has been used up tonow. It is the carrier of our native language culture, and plays an important role in recordingand inheriting the motherland culture,maintaining national unity, and promoting socialdevelopment. With the development of economy and science and technology, the convenienceof communication, and the progress of the society, yet the level that people grasp and useChinese characters appears a little setback. The phenomenon that people read, use and writewrong Chinese characters is common occurrence. There is no exception even in the universitycampus.This study put the college students of elementary education major at three "rise inspecial" schools in Handan city as the research object. Then get language and related datathrough the questionnaire surveyed to them. In addition, get languages by collecting thestudents’ work including composition and lecture notes in these schools. At last, count scoresand the number of wrong characters through the language already got. And then induces thetype and proportion of the wrong characters, compare the differences in different types ofnumber, analysis the characteristics and appeared reasons of the wrong words. And we cananalysis the relationship of the wrong words and reasons according to the obtained data in thequestionnaire. And put forward the corresponding countermeasures.The results of the study show that situation of the wrong words is serious. There are3categories including wrong words, other words and nonstandard words. And among the threecategories, the other words take the highest proportion, then the wrong words the second, andthe nonstandard words take the minimum proportion. Therefore, when teachers correct thewrong characters, they give priority to the other words and wrong words. The reasons ofwrong words appear are related to following factors. First, it’s because of college studentsown factors. For example, the students’ quality is relatively weak. In primary and middleschool students’ cognitive basis of Chinese characters is not so good, and it causes badfoundation. However, the bad foundation is also influenced by many factors, such ascharacters’ own factors, teachers’, families’. Second, it’s about the factor around the college students, such as schools’, social environments’, the computer and network technologies’. Andthe standard of standard Chinese characters is not unified, and so on. The measures aimed atthe students are also based on the reasons, including setting up and strengthening to standardChinese characters consciousness. And to change the despise attitude towards characters;learn the characters well with the knowledge of psychology; purify and standardize the schoolenvironment and the social environment; use computers and mobile phones reasonably,purifying the environment of network words; unify and standard the standard Chinesecharacters; improve the teaching efficiency of Chinese words with the help of teachingcharacteristics of the Chinese characters; open standard Chinese characters training sessions,and establish standard Chinese characters evaluation and rewards and punishment system, andso on.
