Self-confidence is an experience when individuals evaluate their ability and values. Temperament is a kind of dynamic characteristics which a person has in psychological activities, and a main performance in people’s cognition, emotion and behavior styles. Previous studies about self-confidence’s influencing factors, paid more attention to families, schools and other environmental factors, rarely involved subjective factors, such as temperament. And personality development influenced not only by the objective factors, but also by subjective factors. Therefore, this study selects1203~5years old children in a kindergarten in Dalian to discuss the3-5years old children’s self-confidence developmental characteristics and its correlations with temperament by questionnaire and experimental methods, at the same time, based on the relationship between temperament and self-confidence, we design some educational activities to improve children’s self-confidence.Conclusions:1. There is significant age difference and no gender difference on the development of3-5-year-old children self-confidence.4years old is the critical age of self-confidence development.2. Different confidence level of the children in the temperament of focus sex, responsiveness and social inhibitory three dimensions is extremely remarkable differences in emotional and active two dimensions difference was not significant.3. The reaction and attention in children temperament have significant positive correlation with self-confidence. The social inhibition in children temperature has significant negative correlation with self-confidence. The emotionality and activity in children temperament have no correlation with self-confidence.4. The reaction, attention and social inhibition in children temperament can predict self-confidence.5. Through a three-month intervention, the results show that based on the temperament, the interventions can effectively improve the children’s temperament and self-confidence.
