The Research Of Pre-Qing Confucian Bioethics Thoughts

The pre-Qin period was the prosperous and developmental period of academicthought in China History. As the Confucian representative figure, Confucius, Mencius,Xunzi, whose ethics thoughts including abundant life ethics wisdom, has occupied animportant position in China history. To analysis and summarizes pre-Qin Confucianlife ethics thoughts, not only can contribute to inject China element further incontemporary life ethics theory system, but also benefit to theory and application.Fundamentally speaking, the pre-Qin Confucian life ethics thoughts was a birthethics, its fundamental characteristic was life consciousness, the pre-Qin Confuciannot only focused on the natural value of human life, but also emphasized the socialand moral value of human life, their thoughts was a more perfect life ethics system.By analyzing and summarizing Confucius, Mencius, Xunzi and their statements andactions, this article points out their thinking about life,death, and the value of life,extracts the characteristics of the pre-Qin Confucian life ethics thoughts, and tries tocreate a principle of bioethics as the Confucian system, which not only associatingand fitting contemporary bioethics, but also leading by the Confucian ethics thoughts,hopes to providing an ideas and methods of solution from an oriental perspective forthe conflict and confusion about contemporary bioethics.
