The Research On The Inheritance And Vicissitude Of Cangzhou Laozi

Cangzhou Laozi, combined singing, dancing and music, is aperformance performed and organized in square spontaneously by thelocal people in lunar festivals. As a folk art performed in festivals, Laoziis created and held by the mass which is a tradition conserved by andreflected people of a specific area. The paper study Laozi on thebackground of its existing geography environment and villager’s tradition,making a clear statement of its symbolic meaning of collective memoryand culture recognition in a village and even in districts besides thedetailed explanation of its evolution and operation in history. Laozipresents in public areas as culture heritage.The paper includes the following five parts:The introduction makes an illustration of the study origin,significance of the topic, previous studies and research methods and the general information of the village named Che Guantun where I begin myresearch.The second part is the evolution and performance system of Laozi.The paper illustrates the evolution process of Laozi by explaining therelationship between Canzhou Laozi, Lianhualao and Yangko and itsperformance system by introducing its dancing, music, stage propertiesand costumes.The third part makes a case study of the operation mechanism of avillage on the basis of performance space of Laozi, which constitutes themost important part of this paper. The social and cultural function ofLaozi is conveyed, the operation system of a village on “Pao Laozi” isstudied on view of synchronic and diachronic.The fourth parts focuses on paying attention on Laozi-a cultureheritage, pointing out the performance of Laozi is co-constructed bymany parties. Laozi actives in the environment of no-context, and Laozitake its change under the influence of village culture.The fifth part is the conclusion of the paper. The paper points out thedevelopment of Canzhou Laozi can be attributed to the presence of localculture and transmission of public culture.
