Fusion Of Elegance And Popularity:on Characteristics And Reasons Of Xuxu’s Novels

XUXu is a very unique writer in Chinese ContemporaryLiterature.His novels reach a realm of fusion of elegance andpopularity,with entertainment and popularity,with concern of humannature and philosophical thinking.On the basis of analysis of XUXu’snovels,this paper will use the theory of elegance and popularity and otherrelated theories to explore the characteristics and causes of its noveltastes.The body of this paper is divided into three parts.The first partdiscusses the relationship of interaction and learning from each otherbetween elegance and popularity through the combing of the relatedtheory.By revealing the status of novel’s elegance and popularity and itsown characteristics,then this paper indicates its unique advantages in theaspects of fusion of elegance and popularity. The second part discusses the features of the fusion of elegance andpopularity through three aspects.First of all,XUXu’s novels alwayspursuit the ideal humanity and criticize the darkness of human nature bya romantic story.Secondly,XUXu tends to combine the psychologicaldescription with storytelling in his novels,in order to explore the depthsof mysteries of character’s spirit.Thirdly,XUXu always display religiousand philosophical thinking in the states of story.The third part discusses the reasons of XUXu’s novel tastes.First,this paper discusses the reasons of his novel tastes from the followingthree aspects:his character, his attitude on various ideas,culture andliterature.Secondly, his novel tastes are discussed by researching theselection of his novel themes.By the novel structure,the control ofdistance,inheritance and transcendence,and the dialogues of hisnovels,this paper lastly discusses the reasons of his novel tastes.
