The purpose of this paper is to use the elementary concepts and theoretical ofcognitive linguistics, research on one of the most important sources of the Chineseconjunction system from the angle both of the grammar and semantics, explore thesemantic development model of Chinese conjunction, hope to strengthen theunderstanding of the formation reasons of the conjunctions. The objective is to discover the uniqueness of Chinese conjunction along itsdevelopment and to give special attention to its development models by study on therelationship between pronouns and conjunctions. This discourse is organized asfollows:The first chapter is focused on literature review for early detections on pronounsand the conjunctions derives from the pronoun, and also demonstrate the impact of theresearch、the study methods and the obtained of language resources, etc.The second chapter is discusses the use, source and the development process ofconjunction which directly come from pronouns or by pronouns act as morpheme inpartial conjunction and combination conjunction. Chinese pronouns and conjunctionsemantic relationship is very close. The integration related to pronouns mainlyincluding prepositional phrases and verb-object phrase. There are a variety kinds ofconjunction, such as causal connections “since、if so、so、as、to、thus”, A conjunctions“therefore”、“as to”、“besides”、“then”, coordinate conjunctions “and”,the choiceconjunctions “prefer to、or”, the disjunctive conjunctions “but”、“while”、“however”、“yet”, the progressive conjunctions “next”etc. These kinds of fusion have twocharacteristics:One is the same as the evolution of pronouns—At first is through the anaphora tocohesion, and then gradually produce grammatical function of conjunction. The other is that among the fusion process, the function of conjunction mainlycomes from pronouns, while the logic relation of the conjunction basically comesfrom prepositions or verbs, such as “so”,“to”indicate causality,“because”、“to”which derived from prepositions, say “with”meaning, in the integration process, thepreposition meaning of “because”、“to” extended to stand for reason, the pronoun“this” has gradually transfer from refers to the things mentioned above to causal conjunction; And also the progressive conjunction “and”, its connecting functionmainly comes from the verb meaning of “add”,“it” refers to the above content. Thefirst word of “So” do prepositions are used for introducing time, location, object, words meaning are virtual, in fusion process not to join the new semantics, theevolution of the conjunction said after the undertake, the same as the evolution ofpronouns. The third chapter is the summary; we will draw the conclusion based on thestudies above. In this paper, we apply the type technique to evaluate the semanticrelationship between pronoun and the conjunction which evolved from the pronounand as well detailed description it throughout every period of the grammaticalprocesses.
