Chinese idioms which contain conjunctions, or the idiom involving conjunctions, has been extensively applied in modern Chinese. We use two methods, one is the quantitative and qualitative combined method, the other one is descriptive and explanatory combined method, to study the syntactic structure, semantic relations, pragmatic characteries and its significant asymmetry of conjunction idiom from the synchronicity angle. The grammatical structure of conjunction idiom is relatively abundant. The grammatical types of biased-positive form,predicate-object form,subject-predicate form, parallel form, successive predicate form, pivotal construction form, and constructive form. The internal layer of four-character conjunction idiom is more simple, which has two layers maximally. The first layer takes conjunction as the node, dividing into two parts; the internal layer of multiword conjunction idiom is more complicated, with more layers. Conjunction idiom is mostly predicated, which also causes certain effects on the grammatical function of conjunction idiom to some extent.Conjunction idiom involves abundant semantic relations internally, including seven types of transition relationship, modification relationship, continuation relationship, coordinating relationship, causal relationship, objective relationship, assumption relationship.Conjunction idiom equips with obvious asymmetry. The asymmetry of conjunction idiom is not only reflected in its structural form, but also in the semantic relations; there are three reasons causing the asymmetry of conjunction idiom: the first is the universality of asymmetry, the second is the canalization of idiom, the third is the connectivity of conjunction. In the aspect of pragmatics, conjunction idiom equips with its unique expression effects. Firstly, despite of the applications of conjunction idiom in oral language, its most significant colloquial characteristic is reflected as the strong written word color; besides, conjunction idiom is concise in the formulation form, abundant in semantics, vivid and visual, rich in expressive forces; in the last, some special uses of conjunction idiom such as collocatio imitation of conjunction idiom are also extremely vivid and interesting.
