The Research On Thousand Character Classic

Because the teaching materials of private school were superficial and rough,ancient scholars neglected them. But, Thousand Character Classic, the representativeone, took an important place on the domain of education, literature, calligraphy,culture exchanges and so on.Thousand Character Classic was recorded in annals. And, scholars discussed therelationship between it and the people such as Emperor Zhang of Eastern HanDynasty, Zhong You, Wang Xizhi and Zhou Xingsi. They not only annotated thewords, the sentences, the quotations and the allusions of it, but also supplemented,recomposed and copied it. On the other hand, many calligraphers created works of artabout it. So there were kinds of editions of annotations, articles and calligraphies.Otherwise, as a piece of literature work, Thousand Character Classic was refined andpolished. Its rhyme and syntax affected other teaching materials. Even in Japan andKorea, it also had a strong impact.According to these main ideas, this paper was divided to five parts. Part1discussed the author and the clue of spreading in different dynasty. Part2,Part3andPart4introduce the typical editions of annotations, articles and calligraphies. Part5talked about its features and its influence on Chinese, Japanese and Korean cultures.To end, there are some inspired problems to be directed against modern education.The research meathods of this paper were reading different editions and analysis.For there will be a comprehensive cognition.
