Industrial heritage has a very important value on history, science, economy and aesthetic. In foreign countries, it began earlier on industrial heritage research, and at present has made great achievements on its protection, reuse, value and so on. Of course, they have accumulated a lot of valuable experience in practice. In contrast, China awaken comparatively later, and still in its infancy. In general, it hasn’t formed a systemed and ripe mechanism of on protection and reuse in China. Shanghai is the birthplace of Chinese modern industry, also the birthplace of modern textile industry. Since it started a new era of Chinese dynamical machine of textile industry in1889, it has left a lot of precious textile industry heritage. Enter the21st Century, under the impact of market economy and city’s renewal, many modern industry, including the textile industry, face an embarrassment condition that or as industrial heritage to protect or as waste to tear down. In view of this, it is extremely necessary to choose important and representative textile industrial heritage of Shanghai as a topic to study. This task not only has certain theorial significance, but also is the front topic of the subject of the history of technology, and has the rescue of realitic value to the protection and inheritance of industrial heritage.This paper choose textile industrial heritage as the research object because it is extremely important and representative in Shanghai industrial heritage and fewer people involve in it. By the methods of literature research and field survey method, combining with the method of comparative analysis, this paper preliminarily arranges the Shanghai textile industrial heritage, and carries out a research on "Huzhou Silk Deport".
