Patterns Analysis And Strategies On Industrial Heritage Protection And Reuse

Industrial civilization created tremendous value and wealth for people in just hundreds of years, which not only did change people’s way of life, but also laid the foundation for the rapid development of the technology. However, with the further development, many traditional industrials were eliminated, and left a large number of industrial heritages, which participated and witnessed the history of the city.Considering that the industrial heritage is non-renewable resource, once damaged, it will cease to exist, so it has very important research value.But the reality is that many cities in our country, during the process of the construction or the update, only dedicate to the economic interests and the commercialization, and the attitude to the industrial heritage is dismantlement, simple and rough. The original value of the industrial heritage determines its area and use age, which also determines its final fate. Industrial heritage is particular and important part of the city. How to put our heads together to the protection and reuse of industrial heritage will become the emphasis in the future, which can avoid a phenomenon that all the cities become the same without characteristics and memories at last. Referring to the patterns of the protection and reuse of industrial heritage, they are varied, such as museums, theme parks, cultural creative industry, industrial heritage tourism, etc.Zhengzhou is an industrial city, where railway sites, workshops, machines,warehouses, and family areas are ubiquitous. But with the needs of the development,the fate of the industrial heritages is worthy of our attention. In this paper,combination with the related concepts, the value and the significance of industrial heritage, the paper will analyze the patterns of industrial heritage protection and reuse deeply. What’s more, this paper will integrate the history of the industrial development and the present situation of industrial heritage protection and reuse in Zhengzhou city, at last industrial heritage protection strategies will be put forward.
