It’s a long time since the Christianity had been introduced to China. Although Qing Government prohibited missionary do their professional work in china at Kangxi Dynasty, before Opium War, whereabouts of missionary have already be found in Zhoushan and Ningbo of Zhejiang Province at Jiaqing Dynasty. In that time, they played multiple roles and left significant trace in the history of Zhejiang. In1842, when the year Qing Government rescind a prohibition, western missionary accelerate the speed of doing missionary professional work, and gradually went to inland. Because of the culture difference between Chinese and Western, and the contestation of benefits, which is one of the important part of the social history of Zhejiang.In the period of late Qing dynasty, Zhejiang is the region in where anti-missionary riots has a high frequency-there are about106anti-missionary riots according to statistic, many of them are major case, officials, squires and the populace widely involved who playing important role during anti-missionary riots. Some reasons lead to anti-missionary riots, including the church power become too aggressive, the officials could not deal with by justice and rumors spread, these factors are considerable. The outstanding features of anti-missionary riots in late Qing Dynasty are imbalance of the area that northeast anti-missionary riots is more than the southwest, earlier is less but later stage is brush out on the time shaft and from loose to organized about the combat form.Since the Christianity had been introduced to Zhejiang province, which made significant influence on the rural community and officials squires and the populace made active respond. In the space where the resources is limited officials, squires, the populace and the church game with each other for the benefits. What is more, by the study of late Qing Dynasty, added to quantify in order to make the study of missionary case in the region of Zhejiang province much more distinct and detailed.
