The Digestion And Reconstruction Of Post-modernism On Traditional Views Of Technology

The rapid development of technology brings prosperity and comfort to our humanbeings, however, it also leads to the inevitable consequences. Environmental pollution,ecological imbalance, nuclear weapons, such as a series of crisis caused by theresearch of science and technology forwards to people. The primary objective oftechnology research should be to make human beings toward a better society, howevernow, the negative effects brought have threatened the survival and development ofmankind deeply, and even some crisis has appeared on the surface to fight for itsleadership with human. The crisis makes people awake from blindly optimistic andpeople begin to reflect upon the root causes seriously. So the post-modernism, formedin the late20th century, is one of the most important reflection achievements.This essay is based on post-modernism, to reflect on the root cause of alienationcaused by modern science and technology. The full text is divided into four parts: thefirst part mainly expounds the basic theory of post-modernism, introduces thebackground and theoretical roots of post-modernism, and analyses several basicconcepts. The second part discusses respectively the thoughts of how to criticize anddispel the traditional view of science and technology of Heidegger and Lyotard,through their ideas on modern technology, we have a deep understanding of technology.The third past focuses on the issues that these post-modernism represents are how toreshape the modern technology. Such as Heidegger, Ferre and Griffin, they haveformed their own theoretical system with their unique insights. The fourth part mainlyanalyzes comprehensively these post-modern technical ideas, and on this basis, tryingto find a better method to treat technology.On the thoughts and research of traditional views of science and technology, itreflects the improvement of people’s level of recognition, and its progressive role willencourage people to treat science and technology with a more peaceful attitude. At thesame time it forms a new view of nature and ecology after reviewing the relationshipbetween human and nature. No matter how many side effects of technology, it is undeniable that our human beings need the high technology. So in the process ofstudying modern technology, we hope to be able to remove the negative effects ofalienation and make the technology more human-friendly with the construction ofmodernization.
