| Translation, regarded as a bridge that links different culture from east to west, has animportant impact on the cultural exchange and has done numerous contributions to the deepeningof mutual understanding. This is a translation report on the basis of the documentary of AustralianBalloon Adventure which is a series of geographic travel program promoted by BBC. This reportincludes three chapters: the macroscopic thinking of the Chinese translation project; thetranslation skills related to the documentary during the translation process; and the finalconclusion part，related to some characteristics of subtitle translation. It aims at applyingtranslation theory into practice and providing a reference in subtitle translation with good qualityfrom English to Chinese. In this report, the author refers to the translation theory of “faithfulness,expressiveness and elegance” put forward by Yanfu. In addition the author also refers to a greatnumber of translation skills and applys them into the translation work from source language,which of those are vividly presented in the thesis. |
