| “Woshuo/Nishuo” is an expression of subject-predicate structure which expresses themeaning of the speech behavior. And with the working of cognitive mechanism, it is graduallytransforming from the meaning of the speech behavior to the meaning of cognition, untilbecoming a discourse maker “Woshuo/Nishuo” in the end. As a discourse maker,“Woshuo/Nishuo” has converted in terms of voice, grammar and meaning. In the aspect ofvoice, the “shuo” of discourse maker “Woshuo/Nishuo” changes from the primary [uo55] to[u], and accordingly its tone changes from level tone to airy voices. In the aspect ofgrammar, discourse maker “Woshuo/Nishuo” is an integrated and independent linguistic unit,and has nothing to do with any other component in the sentence. In the aspect of Semantics,discourse maker “Woshuo/Nishuo” expresses procedural meaning instead of the valuemeaning in the discourse. If it is removed from the sentence, the meaning of the wholesentence will not change. But it is not declared that the existence of discourse maker“Woshuo/Nishuo” is not essential. In the aspect of function, discourse “Woshuo/Nishuo”could adjust illocutionary force of speech act in the communication, show the communicativeintention of the speaker, and arouse the attention of the listener. In the aspect of use, itconnects with not only the personal linguistic style of users but also some social factors suchas sex, profession and age of the users. Therefore, studying the discourse maker“Woshuo/Nishuo” is a rewarding job. |
